I have over two decades of experience in rigorous intellectual and career-driven environments that place high-demand on convention. I’ve chosen to think, choose, and live outside the box, and I've done it with success. Intellectual and existential risk-taking is where I thrive.
I earned my doctorate in philosophy from the University of Oregon, specializing in existentialism, phenomenology, and feminist philosophy — lines of inquiry that create transformative ideas about authenticity, freedom, relationships, embodiment, and social change. I’ve written three books and over a dozen academic articles. My work has been featured in Ms. Magazine and the Advocate, and I’m invited to speak all over the world about ethics, embodiment, gender, race, sexuality, power, and social change.
Think of me as your own personal philosopher to help you figure out the deeper meaning and significance of your insights, pursuits, and life experience.

Nearly 20 years ago, I pivoted from a corporate consulting career in NYC to become a professional investigator of the mind.
I earned my doctorate from the University of Oregon, and have co-authored more than a dozen peer-reviewed research articles on the neuroscience and psychology of emotions, motivation, interpersonal relationships, and goal achievement. I am a teacher, mentor, mindfulness practitioner, and trained facilitator of transformative justice. When I’m not supporting our community of visionaries, I work as Director of Found Men and the University of Oregon’s Men’s Resource Center to realize my own vision of a world in which men are empowered toward more supportive relationships with themselves and others.
The science of human development tells us that things will change. One of my favorite things is helping others move toward change that’s more aligned with their vision for themselves and the world.
